Gabs from Griffin

Yesterday Griffin and I were having a serious conversation that went something like this...

Me: You know G, when you tee-tee and poopy on the potty ALL the time you will get a BIG prize from the Toy Store! Let's start pottying all the time on the potty and not in your undies or pullup OK! That way you can get a BIG prize from the Toy Store.

Me: Now, what are you going to do to get a BIG prize from the Toy Store?
Griff: Cooperate?!
Me: Um...yes. Cooperate AND tee-tee and poopy on the potty.

Ramblings

I haven't felt like bloggin' much these days. I feel like I seem to only post pictures and that's fine, but every now and then it's nice to have something worth saying right?

What's going on around the Holt house you may ask?

We'll we've been busy. But not any busier than any other families!

Alli is finishing up her tumbling this thursday. She wants to take a break thru the summer. She can flip, but up until now only at the gym on the mats. Well she can now flip in the yard. She searches for good soft grass and then will do it! Yay! I'm so proud of her! She will start back in Aug/Sept. Since she will be in 6th grade next year she will be able to try out of Junior High Cheerleader. ( I can't believe I will soon have a 6th grader...yikes!)

Walker is loving baseball this season! He is an Oriele. Or an Oreo as Griffin calls him. He is the first baseman and really shows alot of talent! His little team hasn't won a game yet. I keep telling him it's not about winning but about having a great time and giving your all. But at some point you want them to win at least one game right? He hit an in park homerun the first of the month and of course mom and dad were not there to see it :( He has also taking to a liking of soccer. They play at school and when he gets home he is constantly kicking a ball around. I think this fall we will let him choose soccer or flag football.

Oh and just because I was very vague about Walker's black eye...he fell out of our fort a week ago. And landed on his cheekbone. He looks so stinkin' rough! I don't want people to think he has been fighting. He's too sweet to fight ;)

Griffin is going to be 3 this summer! I still can't believe that! Where does the time go? He is such a big boy too! A big boy with a cowlick that makes it almost impossible to comb his hair down. He would LOVE to play baseball, basketball, soccer, ANYTHING! His is going to be a linebacker for sure! We are working on potty training. I sooooo hope by summer we will be trained, but I'm not holding my breath! Griffin is a spit fire! Very, very busy. But so stinkin' sweet!

We are still settling in our house. There is so much to do when you move into an older house. Every wall needed painting. Wall paper needs to be pulled down (all 3 baths, and entry way). Flooring is an issue. But all these things will be done in time. Right now I am painting. We are starting the stair walls and upstairs living room this weekend. And I think I will take a few months off before tackling the bathrooms. UGH!

We are looking forward to the summer! I'm ready to sleep in...that is if I can get my kids to sleep in! They are all such early risers!

I've been wearing dresses lately...I bought 2 more today. I kinda like wearing dresses...

I wanted to go on a cruise this fall until I heard about the Carnival Cruise ship that tilted the other day in route back to Galveston.

We are having hotwater heater problems for a couple of weeks now. We had a guy come out and look at it...he "fixed" it and we are still having issues. It's not much fun running a tub full of water, getting ready for a nice warm relaxing bath only to step into it and realize there is NO HOT WATER. Not fun at all! So as of right now...not hot water. We have a late baseball game which means a trip over to my in-laws for quick bathes. This means the kids will not be in bed by 9:30....grrrrrrrr!

Well, I guess that's it for now. Just felt like talking! Thanks for listening!

A day at the zoo

We met our Tyler friends at the zoo yesterday. Griffin enjoyed the animals and playing on the red tractor!
He told his daddy that his favorite part of the zoo were the monkeys and birds.

He also loved seeing the animals with "Meda" (Mia).

PIcnic in the Fort

These boys planned this picnic all week last week! They were looking forward to Saturday at lunch time!

We got home from baseball practice and quickly made lunches.
Hayden came down and they retreated to the fort!

I see more of these in our future!
This summer I can see a couple of extra little boys joining in.
Hayden has a brother, Parker, who is a year older than Griffin.
These 4 boys are going to be best buddies!

I love that we live in a quiet neighborhood, but have a couple of children that are the same age as our kiddos!
It's perfect!

Here's a new post for ya!

OK, so since making my blog private a month or so ago I've noticed I have some people from Tennessee or Whitney, TX reading my blog. I really don't think these friends are from there but when they sign in to my blog for whatever reason it says they are....so this is not making any sense is it.

SO what I am asking you to do is whenever you get on my blog please notice on the side bar where it says you are viewing it from. Make sense? And leave me a comment so I know who it is. Because if my blog is supposed to be private then only people I have OKed should be reading it. Make sense? Good!

Thanks!
Oh and the picture is just so I didn't have a boring post without a picture. A year ago we were getting ready to leave for this trip. Sure wished we were going back, but not yet. Let's let Griff get a little bigger!

Hoot Hoot Bird

A Hoot Hoot Bird or an Our Bird is what G calls it.

A few days ago as I was sitting on our deck talking on the phone to Will I heard an owl. We knew we had a couple of barn owls. Alli says she had seen one but Jason and I had not. About 20 minutes later I see a pretty big bird fly out of the woods just feet away from my feet that were propped up on the deck rails. It was our owl! Being chased by a blue jay! I've never seen an owl in it's natural habitat.

Well, this morning I see some movement on the ground in a bush. So I watch. Of course I could not find binoculars anywhere. So I grabbed my big zoom lens and wait. And finally he lands were I can see him! I think it really is an owl! What do you think?

zackary

I spent my morning with this little guy! He is 3 and wasn't really thrilled about getting his picture made! But he was a cutie nonetheless!
These are just a few of my favorites...which is yours?
