Core Crushers

Tonight we went to watch Jason's sister, Chele, play softball with her work team. Lucky for Jason that needed one more male player or they would have had to forfeit the game. So eagerly he excepted. (See he tried to play when I first had Griffin with our church team, but man did I REALLY need him at home...so he stopped!)

Let's just say that tonight...the Core Crushers really didn't crush anyone!

Here are Poppy and Griffin cheering on Aunt Chele and Daddy!

Look a-like meter...

As you can see I got a little carried away, but I wanted to see how consistent it was...I would say very.

I have to add that this has really throw Alli for a loop. She has always said she got her looks from her Daddy. And Walker from me. Of course, this is all because this is what she has always been told and has heard. She just can't believe she looks more like me...I'm like Thanks Al!

Thankful

Last night we had the opportunity to go to the Truman Smith Center and feed the staff and few patients. All I can say, is Thank you dear Lord for my precious children, family and our good health.

Oh, how it touched my heart. There were a few who were able to communicate with you. Just beautiful people. One young man in particular, his name is Chris. He came outside and sat and visited with us. Ate a hamburger and almost got away with drinking a regular Coke, until a nurse squealed on him. Chris is diabetic and is on a diet and wasn't supposed to be eating cookies, chips and a regular Coke!

So many of these children never have visitors. The only contact they have are with the staff. It just broke my heart to think of these children and a few adults sitting there all day without a parent to brush their hair, to read them a book and to put them to bed. I just don't understand how you can just forget about your child. But I also don't know their story.

All I know is that I was touched. And will be there the next chance I get.

I am looking forward to hearing Brian blow me kisses and say Happy Birthday. Everyday is a Happy Birthday for Brian. His laugh was delightful.

It made me come home and kiss my children. Tell them that I LOVE them. And praise God for blessing me with them. Take a moment today and do the same.

Matthew 18:3 And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

James 1:17 Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

The Best of Both Worlds

For over a week now we have been preparing for the Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds 3D concert on the Disney Channel.
  • Set the TiVo
  • Get the glasses
  • Invite our friends over

We were set! This was such a big deal that one night past Nana's bedtime (8 pm) she went to Wal-Mart to buy a TV guide that had the 3D glasses in it only to find out later that they were giving them away FREE at Wal-Mart. So back to Wal-Mart we go to get more for our little friends and for Mommy and Daddy. We wanted to watch too!

So here are our kids with their friends Lainey and Joey who are also siblings.
Alli and Walker have the best Daddy in the world. I sent him to Wal-Mart (again) to get popcorn, drinks, and cookies and he comes home with a cake that he had them write "Hannah Montana" on. How sweet is that! He says, "We are the cool parents!" I think, "Yes, or the dorky ones... only time will tell!"
So here they are getting ready. So engrossed in it.
Then out of NOWHERE Walker leans forward and says, "Hey Lainey, what do you want to be when you grow up?"
That boy, he cracks me up the way his little mind works.
As you can see from the photos below, they didn't sit on the couch for very long. They were all over the place singing and dancing.
And screaming everytime Joe Jonas was on screen. Apparently, my daughter and Lainey *HEART* Joe.
Hannah (not Montana) arrives late and joins in on the fun!
And little Griff had to join in on the fun! Singing and Dancing! Oh, and spinning round and round. This is his latest achievement!
Daddy looking cool with his shades on!
Walker-man jamming!

Our kids had a great time! And honestly so did I!

We've got the greatest aunt in the world...

Project Friday Night @ Chele's house!
My sister in law saw a cute craft out of a highlight magazine and wanted to "borrow" my children to make it. "Borrow" my children? Are you kidding me? You don't have to ask to "borrow" my children...take them!

So, Friday after she got off work she came by to pick them up. They were sooooo excited to go to Chele's! Excited to do the craft but also there was a HUGE chance she would let them swim!

They had so much fun making bubblegum magnets for our fridge.
I think Hannah had as much fun as the little kids.
Here are the artist and their finished masterpiece. And Molly (the dog).
And of course, Chele said yes to swimming!
I thought the water looked so pretty in these shots! Must be the night light!
Thanks Chele and Hannah! They had so much fun! What time do you want them next Friday night! :)

Project Great White Shelf

What we thought would take one afternoon ended up taking 1 week and several trips to the hardware store.

Last Saturday our good and talented friend Jessi came over with her tools and routered our piece of wood we bought for Alli's room. It made a boring piece of wood look like a beautiful piece of...I guess furniture.

Now it was time to prime it and paint it! That didn't take long. Living in Texas and the temperture is 100 degrees it dried in NO time!

So Jason gets all his tools and heads to her room where we have to make sure everything is level and anchored in well.

This, at the time, seemed like the hardest part...boy were we wrong.

We get the shelf up and he starts attaching it to the brackets and I hear a crash...the shelf was alittle warped and when he attached the bracket to the shelf it popped all the othe brackets out of the wall. We both just wanted to scream. See, we are not "handy" people. We have the desire to be "handy", but not neccessarily the ability. It is so frustrating for people like us. We want so badly to be able to just throw a project together. But when we start a project we know (or I should say I know) it will take much longer than someone else.

OK, so this project was started last Saturday. One week later, several visits to the hardware store we get started finishing it.

As Jason is drilling I stand next to him as an assistant would and ask how it is going. He gives me that look of assurance and says I think I am almost done. I clap, do a little dance and then yell, NOOOO!
He had screwed the bracket in upside down!!!!! So frustrated again. See, nothing goes smoothly at our house. So reverse the drill and start over!
But as you can see we finished and we are very pleased with the outcome! Yay! No more stuffed animals all over her floor. But what is sad, she still has a container in the top of her closet full of animals...poor child.
