empty

Griffin woke up this morning to an empty room. He went to sleep in his bed, but crawled in our bed at some point last night. So while he slept in this morning I got busy!

Well, honestly on a mattress on the floor was left, but I did get the baseboards cleaned and floor done!

He slept until 9 and then a friend offered to watch him. What a huge blessing! I couldn't believe how easy it was to pack all by myself! Thanks Courtney!!! I owe you big time!

Because I've got nothing

Today will be the last night we spend in this house. My mom and granny came today and several other days and helped me pack and clean. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I hope you both know how much of a huge blessing you were to me! I couldn't have done it without you!

So because my floors were so shiny and clean, I did what comes natural and I made my kids sit down and smile. 1/3 didn't want any part of it (can you guess which one?), another 1/3 cooperated a little (can you name that child?) and the last 1/3 was all about smiling for the camera (name that kiddo?).

I can't wait to get to the new house and see what kind of lighting I have there! And what kind of outdoor photos I can take. It apparently has a "fall" yard.

The Big Sister

Alli came home from school today and told me she didn't have homework.
Later I found a history book next to her backpack.
I asked her what it was for and she said her teacher said they just need to look over it.
So I told her to get it and do what her teacher said.

She literally looked over it in less than a minute. No reading, just "looking". We had to explain exactly what her teacher meant.

This is the look of girl with only brothers!

Words From Walker

It's been awhile since I've done a post from Walker. Today when I picked him up from school I asked, "What did you learn today?" He responded, "Probably nothing...."
Cracks me up!

Sopping...

IS the best part of making cakes!
Just ask Griffin!

Wordless Wednesday

First day of school!!!!

Well summer is over! And it really flew by, well up until Thursday of last week! Then I could tell the kids were ready for something different!

Walker could hardly contain himself last night! He squealed with delight at the thought of going to school! Which for those of you who know him, know that is a huge difference from last year!

Walker-1st grade Alli- 5th grade

Alli on the other hand was a little nervous. Not as giddy as her brother. I know that will change once she gets to her new campus and gets familiar with the hallways and the new set of rules! She has her BF's mom as a teacher this year and I know she is in good hands!

Good luck Alli and Walker! I am so proud of you! This is going to be a terrific year! I can already tell!

We are moving!

We are so excited to be finally moving! We have wanted for atleast 2 years, probably more, to sell our house and move! It is finally here! And I feel comfortable enough to now show you were we are going! We are so excited to be moving to a house on 2 acres! With a super long driveway!!! I love the house, but I am so in-love with the yard! I can't wait to spend my evenings on the back deck watching my children play in the shades provided my our many new trees! I am so excited about trees! Because those of you who are my real life friends and know where I live KNOW we don't have shade trees here! We had to plant one and it's not really providing "shade" yet!

I am also very excited about this driveway!!!! My kids can now ride for hours in the safety of our own driveway! And that little red barn in the picture? It's ours too! Not that we have anything to put in it...well we do own a third of a tractor ;)!

And this fort...it stays! My kids are so excited! Only thing missing is a tire swing!

And one of the rooms I fell in love with from day one! The kitchen! That overlooks a green, shady backyard!

Closing is not until Sept. 21st! And the closing on our house now will be around labor day. So there is 2 weeks or less we will be out of a house! We are going to stay with my Granny who lost her husband in January. She is sooooo excited and I am too! She is having a hard time (naturally) and we will get to be with her and hopefully make her evenings not so lonely. I'm sure she will not want us to leave. Then again, she may be READY for us to leave!

I just wanted to share what is going on in our lives! It's been a very busy week or 2! And it will only get busier with the kids starting school on Monday and then us trying to pack up the house! Wish us luck!

Unlucky...

Want to hear a story about how unlucky I am?

This morning, I was standing in my closet trying to decide what to wear to Chuck E. Cheese. You know, it's very important to pick just the right thing when going to Mr. Cheeses place! When all of a sudden I heard this strange noise. Then I was hit in the head with the glass light fixture from the top of our closet. Do you know how bad that hurt? That fixture was very thick and heavy. My first fear was that I was going to pass out. And I thought, I can't passs out...I'm home alone with my kids. I grabbed my phone and called Jason while laying on the bathroom rug. I called for Alli, but she never came. It's a good thing I didn't pass out. The kids were too busy watching "Earnest Scared Stupid" to care that their Mama had a huge bump on her head. I'm fine, just got a nice knot on my head and it's very tender. I'm just thankful it wasn't one of my kids that got hit...that could have been very bad!

Inviting...

I love taking pictures of archways and benches. There are many other things like doors and door knobs I enjoy shooting too.
But benches...they just make me smile!
This bench is begging for someone to sit...rest...listen...relax...enjoy! Isn't it?

Lori and Jake

I had the pleasure of taking engagement pictures for a dear friend of our family! I had a blast and loved meeting Lori's fiance Jake! Most guys don't really enjoy having their pictures made, but Jake was full of ideas and was very willing to play along with me! Thanks Lori and Jake! I had a blast! And look forward to your wedding very soon!

I LOVED how playful Jake was! These are my favorite pictures to take! The ones that capture a "moment"!

I love bellys!

I had the opportunity this past weekend to take maternity pictures! Oh how fun! Jill was super easy and so laid back! Not to mention absolutely beautiful and so tiny to only have 6 weeks to go! She just wanted a few pictures for her scrapbook and for the baby's nursery! These are just a few of my favorites!
